Winter is coming, but that doesn’t mean you have to let your bod go! Keeping your summer body in the colder months just means that you won’t have to work as hard when spring comes around in 2017. We’ve compiled the best ab crunching exercises to help you quickly blast their your daily workout with sacrificing too much time or effort – and help you through those winter blues:
The Plank
Tried and true, there’s a reason that trainers will always incorporate this move into their workouts – it works. Planking works out many different areas of your body – abs, legs – you name it.
Get into a traditional plank position. Place your forearms on the ground and bend at the elbow. Make sure your body is straight as an arrow and lift off of the ground. Switch it up a bit by bring your right knee in towards your right elbow, and your left knee in towards your left elbow – continue to alternate for 10 reps on each side.
The Bike Crunch
You don’t have to ride a bike (or even remember how to) to do the bicycle crunch, another classic ab-getting exercise.
Lie flat on your back with your hands behind your head. Bend your legs at 90 degrees and lift your head. Alternating sides, bring your right elbow to your left knee, then switch – that’s one rep. Continue for 10 reps.
The Criss Cross Crunch
Remember in elementary school when you crossed your legs, and the teacher said, “Criss -cross applesauce”? Now, it’s applicable to your adult daily life – at least, it is when it comes to working out.
Lie on your back and use your arms and legs to diagonally form an “X.” Keep legs and arms straight. Lift your right hand to “touch” your left foot, and your left hand to touch your right foot. Do 10 reps on each side.
These three ab exercises that you have no excuse not to do – whether you perform them at home or on your lunch break – should have you well on your way to looking more like Channing Tatum every day.
