It’s about time we did something a bit different: just for the fun of it, we polled a huge number of women regarding their personal tastes regarding men’s style, specifically looking for what they found “hot” or “sexy.” Perhaps not surprisingly, we got a lot of the same answers from various women. The preppy look reeks of college and academia, and it's fairly popular with girls in those circles. The so-called "Ivy League style" is actually fairly fashionable today thanks to mainstay retailers like Ralph Lauren, so you can pull this look off with relative ease.
The Takeaway: Don't stray from heavy tweeds, sweaters, or other preppy mainstays -- just make sure they aren't too vintage looking.
How to Perfect It: Tailoring is rather important with outfits like this, lest you look less like a student and more like an awkward professor. For example, sweaters should never be baggier than necessary.
