Another year, another set of mistakes. As 2011 progresses and the fashion world continues to develop, new fashion mistakes are developing in everyday wear. Naturally, these mistakes should be avoided at all costs.

Preppy brands like Vineyard Vines have their high points, but their low points have recently congealed into this miasma of bright colors and garish patterns that is anything but fashionable. If you want to pull off a preppy look, try to balance it out and avoid going overboard -- merge in a bold shirt (like the one pictured) with a more demure tie or the like. Ties like the one pictured are best left at the fraternity house, where they belong.

    people don’t wear hoodies because it’s fashionable. the point of clothes doesn’t always have to be to look good, especially with teenagers.
