I went shopping for dress shirts the other day, and I noticed that Calven Klein offers a lot of shirts without front pockets. I picked them up, since they fit great, but I’m wondering if I’ll get any weird looks.
On the plus side, I don’t have to worry about the pocket being too low on me (I’m short), and the shirts look nice, but on the negative side, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone wear a shirt like this before.
Long story short: don’t worry about it.
Shirts are increasingly coming without pockets nowadays. Part of this is because it’s always been something of a faux pas to use them (thus making them useless), and part of this is because it’s presumed people wear blazers with them (so the pocket is unnecessary anyway). Tons of brands (Club Monaco, Express, Calvin Klein, etc) do this, and there’s nothing really wrong with it. Don’t worry!
