The Worst Things to Do in College

Every so often, Well Cultured gets an e-mail from a college student desperately needing help to survive college- or a highschooler worried about what to expect. While everyone has a little bit of rough time in college, often the big problems- the life-ending sort of mishaps that leave you with a .5 GPA and no job- can be avoided so long as you do the right stuff. With that being said, here are some of the worst things you can do in college- by some of us who have been there ourselves.Obsessing over your Major/Subject

Look, everyone (hopefully) likes their major- you aren't the only "true" fan in any class- so don't obsess. Being "that guy" who obsesses over his/her subject inevitably will make you a distasteful presence in your classes, despite how much your professors may like you- and you may just realize that, despite your fervor, everyone else is just as smart as you are. Make sure to develop interests outside of your major and cultivate the ability to talk about more than one thing- it will save you both mentally and socially.
