If you are not going ATG -- and I mean full ATG, using every single centimeter of your range of motion -- your squat does not count, period. Quarter squats place undue stress on the knees, look stupid, inhibit full muscular development, and oftentimes give new athletes an unjustified perception of strength. From personal experience, I also find that athletes that do quarter squats tend to place an ungodly amount of their weight forward (and onto their toes), rendering their squats somewhat dangerous and unbalanced. Plus, ATG squats give you an awesome "adonis belt." Google it.
